The clous briefing from 18.03.2022

The weekly insight into the world of mechanical engineering with Claas Blume

The standard business model in tool and mold making is a discontinued model! πŸ”š πŸ€·β™‚οΈ

As negative as this may sound at first: unfortunately, it's true! The basic tenor in my clous briefing today is nevertheless forward-looking and positive. πŸ‘Š

The market environment for the tool and die industry is becoming increasingly complex. Therefore, new business models are needed. But the company's own approach must also adapt.

With strong sales growth in services, the industry is already pointing in the right direction in terms of development. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement. πŸ’ πŸ”

According to Jens Luedtke, author of the article in Form + Werkzeug, this applies in particular to foreign sales markets.

It can be stated: The tool and die industry has not yet arrived in "export champion mode" - although the potential is there. πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ πŸ“¦

WBA Aachener Werkzeugbau Akademie GmbH brings in another perspective, also in an article in FORM+WERKZEUG. Here, the focus is on an agile way of working.

By the way: At clous GmbH, we have already embraced the topic of "agile working" and are developing completely agile ourselves - which of course makes me particularly proud as a SCRUM master :)

❓❔I'm interested to know how the LinkedIn community here feels about digital and modern working models in engineering:
What's the status quo?
What's already going well for you guys, what still needs to improve?
